Choose daily hints or multiplayer rooms

The original daily dive and live multiplayer have different rules. Official multiplayer is now available as Puffer Party at krillion.io/party, even though the FAQ still describes it as planned. Our separate multiplayer guide covers the live lobby, private rooms, invitations and settings.

This page covers the original daily puzzle and its results. Use Nisu’s existing answer companion for daily lookup and progressive hints. It does not supply Puffer Party room answers or track what other players have used.

Find today’s daily prompts

Open the daily companion and check the displayed date and current-list status before selecting a prompt. Choose the same question you see in the original game. A similar category from an older puzzle is not enough to identify the current answer set.

The companion keeps answers hidden until you request them. Use that to choose how much help you want before starting the daily dive.

Reveal a hint before a full answer

If you want a nudge, select a prompt and use the progressive hints. Stop when you have enough to make a guess; revealing an answer is optional. If you are reviewing a finished dive instead, you can use the answer lookup directly.

The tool is a companion to the original daily game. Opening it does not start a Krillion round or submit a guess to the game.

Check an answer against the current list

Enter the answer you want to check under the matching prompt. Read the returned name, tier and score together. A recognized alias may point to a different spelling or main entry, so the visible result matters more than a similarity between words.

If a name is absent from the current list, first recheck the question’s restrictions and your spelling. The absence does not by itself prove that the answer is wrong in the real world; the official FAQ acknowledges incomplete sets.

Keep the date and prompt with your result

When comparing a result with a friend, include the puzzle date, exact prompt, submitted spelling and returned answer. This avoids comparing different categories or confusing a spelling correction with a rarity decision.

Keep daily hints separate from a live multiplayer invitation. For Puffer Party, send your current room’s invitation and use the dedicated multiplayer guide linked above. Daily results and a room’s active question are different contexts.

Start the daily dive at the official site

Krillion is a browser trivia game at krillion.io. The daily dive gives everyone the same seven prompts, with 25 seconds to name one thing for each. Less obvious answers earn more points and carry you farther down the ocean. Open the official game using the button above, then read How to Play before choosing Begin Descent.

For the current puzzle, our free companion checks the official public list without starting a game attempt. Answers stay hidden until you ask for a reveal.

The instructions say each point adds 10 metres of depth and a score of 700 reaches the trench. The daily mode allows one dive per day. Treat the start button as the beginning of your attempt rather than opening it merely to browse today’s questions.

The homepage also has Archive, Themed Packs and Unlimited entries. This guide concerns the daily dive; do not assume every alternative mode has identical access rules. Similar-looking sites appear in search results, so check the address bar. The official FAQ identifies the creator as kp.

The original daily instructions and scoring FAQ were checked again on October 20. We have not played an original daily round or tested a scoring strategy; the separate multiplayer guide describes our official private-room interface checks.

Read the result before judging your answer

A correct answer can disappoint for two different reasons: the game may accept it but rate it poorly, or its answer set may not contain it at all. Those outcomes call for different explanations. The result label and the answer shown on screen matter more than how obscure your first idea felt.

What you seeWhat it meansWhat to check
An accepted answer with a rarity resultThe game recognized an entry and assigned its result.Read the returned name; autocorrect may have changed it.
“Too clever”The official FAQ describes a familiar attempt at an obscure answer.Do not treat this label as the same thing as an absent entry.
An answer not listed or recognizedThe answer set may omit a valid item.Check spelling and category fit before concluding the entry is missing.
The Krillion gemThe featured pick also reflects how satisfying it is to find.It is not guaranteed to be the most obscure answer imaginable.

What “too clever” means

The developer uses “too clever” for the obvious choice among supposedly obscure answers. It does not mean that your answer is too intelligent to count. A name can feel unusual to you and still be a familiar pick for that category.

In a Reddit discussion, u/gorbythechef1 reports receiving the label for food answers and separately says the game did not recognize a river. Other commenters disagree about the label’s meaning. The official FAQ resolves the definition, while the thread shows why players confuse the two outcomes.

For your next prompt, first read its exact restriction. A place, person or object must fit the requested category before its rarity is useful. If you think of several candidates, choose one you can spell and classify confidently. This reduces category and spelling mistakes, though it cannot guarantee a high score.

Why a valid answer can be missing

The official FAQ says answer sets are collected from reference material and cleaned into a combined list. The creator acknowledges missing sources and fair answers. A rejection therefore is not proof that your knowledge is wrong, but neither does every rejected guess prove a hole in the list.

In that Reddit post, u/gorbythechef1 says the game did not recognize the Cuyahoga River. That is a report from one player’s session; we have not checked whether the entry is missing now.

When a result looks wrong, keep the exact prompt, your spelling and the returned message together. A screenshot with only the answer loses the category restriction that could explain it. If you describe the problem to someone else, distinguish “not recognized” from “accepted with a low score.”

An answer bank copied from a past dive cannot settle every future dispute. Sets can be incomplete, prompts differ and the creator is still working on curation. Use the official explanation to interpret the result rather than expecting a universal list to cover every possible category.

Rarity and autocorrect have limits

Krillion’s FAQ describes different scoring methods for different prompts. Some use familiarity data; others use assistance from a large language model (LLM) followed by manual review. The featured Krillion answer also considers the enjoyment of finding it. An answer’s rarity result is not a live percentage of today’s players who chose it. That differs from the player-ranking comparison visible at the end of This Mom Games’ recorded dive.

Autocorrect checks aliases as well as primary names. A small typo near an alias can produce a returned answer that looks unrelated to what you typed. Look at the accepted name before deciding the scoring is inconsistent. The FAQ gives an example: “sea donkey” is an alias for Threebanded Sheephead, so “sea monkey” can match it despite looking nothing like the fish’s main name.

In the longer video below, the prompt around 4:00 asks for a Pixar protagonist and explicitly allows co-leads. That small qualification is worth reading before choosing an answer. Both recordings contain September puzzles, so use them to follow the interface and the wording rather than to look up today’s answers.

Quick help

What does “too clever” mean in Krillion?

The official FAQ describes it as a familiar “obscure” choice. It is a result category, not the same thing as an answer missing from the list.

Why was my valid answer not listed?

The creator acknowledges that a missed reference source can leave a fair answer out. Check the exact prompt and spelling first. Player reports can identify possible gaps, but this guide does not claim they all remain unfixed.

Does rarity mean how many players chose my answer today?

No. The official FAQ describes familiarity data for some prompts and LLM assistance followed by manual review for others. The Krillion gem also considers the satisfaction of finding it. A result-page comparison with other players is a separate statistic.

Why did autocorrect turn my guess into something else?

Krillion checks alternate names as well as main entries. Your spelling may be close to an alias for a different answer. Read the returned name, not just the score.
